EcoEnclose - producer of sustainable packaging for the world’s most conscious eCommerce companies - has launched the ReEnclose Mailer, a reusable shipping solution for forward-thinking brands. Companies ship orders in these durable fabric ReEnclose Mailers. Customers then return the mailers back so they can be cleaned and reused for subsequent shipments.

Without barrier protection in place, paper fiber corrugated cartons may cause corrosion on products stored within. In fact, even a product stored for just four weeks in a corrugated box that meets the archival standards established by the U.S. National Archives and is at the upper limits of the sulfur level specified, would see corrosive sulfur potential exposure equivalent of greater than 20 years of natural exposure.

The equipment – the first to be installed in the United States following a successful expansion throughout Europe – is a sustainable packaging system for multipacks of cans. The innovative solution uses fiber-based packaging for can multipacks, eliminating the need for plastic rings and shrink wrap. It is estimated that KeelClip technology saved over 3 million pounds of plastic in 2021 alone, and has been used with over 550 million packs worldwide.

The new packaging is a significant milestone for both Iceland – in its pursuit of plastic-free packaging – and the frozen food sector, as it represents one of the first successful applications of paper flexible packaging for frozen food. 

The innovative packaging has been designed for the supermarket's Northcoast range of frozen seafood, previously packed in an LDPE bag.
