Faller Packaging unveils tamper-evident paper label

The semi-transparent solution consists of a fibre-based unmixed material, meaning it is fully recyclable. As the label is tamper-proof, it also complies with the EN 16679:2014 standard.

“For the outer material, we opted for a semi-transparent paper made from pure cellulose fibres, with no chemical additives,” said Niklas Mößner, the product manager at Faller Packaging who is responsible for the new tamper-evident label. “The product is therefore biodegradable and can be recycled.

New scientific evidence proves Avery Dennison’s label solutions do not hinder the recycling of HDPE packaging

Avery Dennison, a global leader in materials science and digital identification solutions, recently conducted a semi-industrial trial to assess label releasability and the quality of recycled packaging flakes during the rigid HDPE recycling process, in cooperation with The National Test center Circular Plastics (NTCP). The scientific results demonstrate that Avery Dennison’s standard adhesion filmic label solutions for FMCG applications are fully released from the HDPE packaging during the recycling process even under cold wash conditions.

A range of decorative holographic films, unprinted or flood-printed, from 1.6mm are available. According to Filtrona Tapes, these can be combined with print for ‘cost-effective brand protection’.
