Saltwater Brewery in Delray Beach, Florida, has created edible six-pack rings that feed, rather than kill, marine life if the rings end up in the ocean and an animal happens to eat it. The rings are created from beer by-products during the brewing process such as barley and wheat and are completely safe for humans and fish to eat.

With a stay clean lid that opens wide, consumers will not have to worry about the lid interfering or getting messy while dispensing the product. The closure has an elongated spout to direct product flow and provide a clean product cut off with every use, delivering the ultimate in dispensing convenience.

The four vials were intercepted before they could be distributed to pharmacies or patients.

Flip Lid meets requirements of proposed regulations in Europe and AB 319 California in the USA, which requires plastic closures to remain attached to containers, thereby increasing the number of closures being collected and recycled.

The all-plastic container, made of a proprietary injection-molded polymer resin, is 100% recycled and 100% recyclable. The main reason for HACO AG’s investment in the new line at its plant in Gümligen was the desire for greater flexibility during end-of-line packing to meet growing retail demand for shelf-ready transportation containers. At the same time, the manufacturer also wanted to considerably increase output and ensure maximum availability. A major challenge for the installation was the extremely limited floor space and room height.

DuPont Teijin Films has worked closely with a world-leading supplier of rPET polymer, sourcing the raw material solely from one-way bottle deposit return schemes from Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. The bottles are subjected to several stages of sorting and washing before going through the final patented URRC cleaning process.
