This is one of the first sugarcane-based bottles to be produced commercially by Berry. The bottle is produced on Berry’s standard manufacturing line in a custom mold. “Sugarcane-based plastic bottles are one of the many sustainable packaging solutions offered by Berry Global and the bottles fit seamlessly into our manufacturing process,” says Josh Edmonson, Business Development Manager, Berry.

H.B. Fuller (NYSE: FUL)  announced that it has launched a series of products free of epoxy silane commonly known as e.g. Glymo, within its Flextra™ range of adhesives for flexible packaging. The leading adhesive provider also confirmed that this range does not contain organotin or BPA and specific grades are free of cyclic esters.

Hong Kong and Macau on March 24 temporarily suspended the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine after a batch was found with packaging defects. According to South China Morning Post (SCMP), the Hong Kong government announced the cancellation of bookings at all 21 community vaccination centres providing the German-made jab “until further notice”. Macau and Hong Kong reportedly said that their decision to suspend the Pfizer vaccine came after they were contacted about the issue by Fosun, the Chinese pharmaceutical company that is distributing the BioNTech vaccine in China.

Coca-Cola and it's strategic bottling partners Coca-Cola HBC and Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) are investing €15m in KeelClip, a paperboard packaging solution from Graphic Packaging International that will phase-out shrink wrap on can multipacks.

Coca-Cola HBC will remove shrink wrap from all of its can multipacks in all European Union markets by the end of 2021 with the roll-out starting in Ireland and Poland early next year, followed by Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Romania in 2020.
