Hemco (Independence, Mo.) has introduced a new enclosure for packaging/handling powders. Enclosures are designed to isolate powder handling, sample weighing, high throughput screening, and other lab automated processes. Enclosures can feature HEPA filtered exhaust or HEPA filtered systems to protect users or products depending on the process. Available in unitized or modular models, EnviroMax enclosures are offered in standard sizes or can be built to meet your exact size and design specification.

The packaging forms part of a wider visual identity created for local confectionary business CF18 Chocolatier, which has been shortlisted for this year's Dezeen Award in the graphic design category.

In a bid to cut out the plastic that is normally contained within chocolate packaging, the design makes use of recycled cardboard trays and inlays made from a type of mouldable paper called FibreForm.

SOAPBOTTLE is a packaging for personal care and hygiene products made from soap. Once the liquid content is finished, the empty container can be used as hand soap and “washes away” over time. The soap is made from natural and biodegradable ingredients; Waste can be completely avoided.

Udaipur is a high-visibility tourist destination and therefore sees a lot of carton consumption. At the same time, it is also ranked 1st in Rajasthan under the Swachch Sarvekshan 2020 for cities with under 10,000,00 residents. Tetra Pak and FINISH Society will therefore focus on raising awareness among the waste-picker community, about the value they can derive from collecting used beverage cartons and selling them to a recycler.

Environment Minister Jonathan Wilkinson said Canadians threw away around 3 million tonnes of plastic every year, of which only 9% was recycled.

“The problem is getting worse,” he told a news conference. Ottawa has a target of zero plastic waste by 2030.

“To ensure we keep much more of our plastic in the economy we are proposing to develop regulations to establish higher standards for plastic products and packaging,” he said.

Rewe, one of the biggest retailers in Austria worked together with Mondi to launch a more sustainable cheese tray for its organic brand Ja! Natürlich. Mondi developed a special kraft paper, Advantage Formable Brown, to replace rigid plastic trays. Its unique stretch characteristics mean it can be formed into a shallow tray enhanced with a special barrier coating. This technology combines 80 percent paper, a renewable and recyclable raw material, with a 20 percent barrier coating.

Apple has a ‘Planet-sized’ plan to become the most eco-friendly company. They have announced the Apple will be 100% Carbon Neutral by 2030. They are creating all the new gadgets with recycled materials and will be using clean energy to make them to completely remove their carbon footprint.
