After a government''s order last year that mandated BIS standard for tinplate and tin free steel products import, a few exporters from other countries have applied for registration and approval of their plant, but due to COVID-19 conditions all such applications have been put on hold by Bureau of Indian Standards, it added.

The implementation of the order has now been extended up to July 17, 2021.

"This has resulted in virtual zero import of these essential materials, thereby resulting in a shortage of tinplate containers.

The Evangelion-themed packaging comes in 6 different designs. The designs feature silhouettes of some of the most iconic Evangelion units but also features more subtle patterns taken from the show, such as the font for the series’ title cards and the style of NERV’s user interface.

The Mt Rainier x Evangelion coffee packaging designs are currently available in limited quantities at convenience stores all across Japan.

The startup received a subsidy of €2.5M in 2022 to finance the completion of the development of several new features. It has recently secured a €2.7M investment from the Luxembourg EIC Fund. 

The company says the funds are earmarked to support its further expansion and the implementation of new installations in supermarkets across Europe.

With this funding, Miwa becomes the only startup from the food reusable packaging segment which has ever succeeded.

Mold-Tek Packaging, said that it has been selected as Packing Material Supplier by Grasim Industries’ Birla Paints Division, for supply of Packing Material (PAILS). The plastic packaging manufacturing company also said that a co-located facility will be set-up by the company at Mahad in Maharashtra.
