Amcor, a global leader in developing and producing a diverse offering of responsible packaging solutions, today announced the launch of a proprietary healthcare lidding technology that will be utilized for combination products – those consisting of two or more regulated components (device, drug or biologic).

Starting from 1 November, Sainsburys is thought to be the first major supermarket to offer crownless pineapples, which are traditional pineapples with the green leaves (the crown) removed. The crowns will be removed from standard size pineapples but large pineapples will still have their crowns left on.

Eviosys has launched a food can with a peelable foil directly sealed on the body of the can, branded Ecopeel. The solution is said to reduce the carbon footprint of canned food items by up to 20%. 

The Ecopeel design intends to help businesses achieve their environmental sustainability objectives, driving the move away from plastic and enhancing inclusivity, convenience and branding opportunities for customers and end-users. 

The solution, an “industry-first,” replaces the traditional ring-pull with foil and is notably lighter.
