Bambrew, a clean-tech startup in the sustainable packaging space, has announced the raising of INR 60 crore in equity and debt in a Series A led by Blume Ventures.

Blue Ashva Capital, Mumbai Angels, Indus Capital, along with angels Sreevathsa (Servify), Mandeep (Cashify), and RK Narayan (President at Horizon Industrial Parks), also participated in the round.

Bambrew raised USD 2.35 million in a pre-Series A round led by Blue Ashva Capital and Supack Industries in January 2022.

As part of the launch, Aeroplane has undergone a subtle brand refresh. The iconic character Bertie, originally inspired by Aeroplane’s founder Bert Appleroth, remains central to the branding. His image, along with the signature banner, has been modernised with a softer typeface and a reimagined look. Bertie’s journey across the sky continues to represent the brand’s positioning around "sharing moments of joy," while incorporating vibrant design elements typical of sour confectionery packaging.

The ‘A Roadmap to Closed Loop Glass Recycling’ report, created in collaboration with WRAP, outlines the path to achieving a 90% recycling rate for UK glass packaging by 2030, integrating the latest data and insights. The roadmap emphasises the necessity of improving both the quality and quantity of glass collected, advocating for two-stream recycling systems, public awareness initiatives, and alignment with upcoming legislative frameworks such as Simpler Recycling.

L'Oréal Australia has partnered with TerraCycle to launch a collection and recycling service for consumers.

Beauty and personal care packaging from any company can be taken to a collection point and recycled for free.

KP Snacks has announced a further investment in flow wrap equipment to reduce plastic packaging across its Discos, Roysters and Frisps lines.

The supplier says the flow wrapping process will see a 35% plastic packaging reduction for six-packs across these three brands, equivalent to 100 tonnes of packaging saved annually.

This process is in line with the supplier’s People & Planet strategy to use as little packaging as possible.
