FRoSTA used water-based inks for deep-freeze bags by implementing technology in foil interlayer printing - as the only known flexographic printing company in Germany to date from Folian GmbH.  With the commissioning of a new flexographic printing machine, designed for the processing of water-based inks, the intensified sustainable orientation of folians GmbH began.  Due to the elimination of the process step of the exhaust air purification and the saving of CO2 during the combustion of the ethanol, we can save more than 70% CO2 compared to the processing of solvent paints when processing water-based paints in the printing process. A further advantage: since the water colors do not contain any ethanol contents, the abrasion of the printing plates is significantly lower. Thus we not only save material, but also maintain a constant print image even in large print runs.  FRoSTA is proceeding with a good example and is already printing the new motifs for flexible packaging with water-based inks  This "sustainability concept" is no longer limited to the food itself, but also increasingly affects the packaging materials.
