What They Are & Where They're Used

Three Formats, Three Different Jobs

Shrink sleeves are printed PVC, PETG, or OPS film tubes that heat-shrink tightly around a bottle's contours, giving 360° branding coverage and, when applied over the cap, a built-in tamper-evident band. Wrap-around labels are pressure-sensitive or glue-applied labels wound around a container without shrinking — a lower-cost route to full or partial body coverage on cylindrical containers. Poly liners are plain or barrier-layer plastic bags fitted inside drums, bins, FIBC bulk bags, or corrugated boxes to protect the product from the container and the container from the product.

Shrink sleeves and wrap-around labels are the standard for beverage bottling, personal-care and cosmetic containers, and pharma packs needing tamper evidence. Poly liners serve a different world entirely — bulk chemical, food ingredient, and agrochemical packers who move product in drums, bins, or FIBC bags and need a barrier between the product and the container wall, or a way to keep the container clean for reuse or return.

Because these three formats solve different problems, we quote and specify each independently rather than treating them as one generic "labelling" category.

Typical Buyers

  • Beverage & bottled-drink brands (shrink sleeves)
  • Personal-care & cosmetics brands (wrap-around labels)
  • Bulk chemical & food-ingredient packers (drum/bin liners)
  • Agrochemical & industrial bulk handlers (FIBC liners)
Why It Performs

Adhesion, Shrink Ratio, and Barrier — Specified, Not Guessed

Each format has its own failure mode; each is engineered against that specific risk before it goes to production.

Barrier Performance
Multi-layer barrier liners protect chemically sensitive bulk products from container contamination and moisture ingress.
Print Quality
Full 360° shrink-sleeve print with pre-distorted artwork so graphics land correctly once shrunk onto the bottle's exact contour.
Durability
Label adhesives are tested against refrigeration, condensation, and humidity so labels don't lift or curl in cold-chain or bathroom environments.
Flexible MOQ
Wrap-around labels and poly liners generally carry lower entry MOQs than shrink sleeves, which need cylinder or plate setup.
Customisation
Shrink ratio, label die-cut shape, and liner gauge and dimensions are all set to your exact container or drum specification.
Quality Systems
Shrink-ratio testing on actual bottle samples and adhesion pull tests run before full production, not after complaints arrive.
Technical Support
Our pre-press team pre-distorts shrink-sleeve artwork to your bottle's exact profile so print doesn't warp after shrinking.
Supply Reliability
Sleeve, label, and liner film supply runs across our West-North-South partner network for consistent reorder capacity.

Applications & Challenges Solved

Where Format Choice Prevents Costly Rework

Each container type and storage condition puts a different stress on the sleeve, label, or liner.

Beverage Bottles
Challenge: condensation causing labels to lift in chilled retail cases
Full-body shrink sleeves eliminate edge-lift risk entirely by conforming to the bottle rather than relying on an adhesive bond.

Personal-Care & Cosmetic Containers
Challenge: label curl and adhesive failure in humid bathroom storage
Adhesives are selected and tested for humidity resistance so wrap-around labels stay flat through the product's shelf life.

Bulk Chemical Drums & Bins
Challenge: product-to-container contamination and difficult cleanout
Chemically compatible poly liners create a barrier between product and drum, protecting product purity and simplifying container reuse.
Ordering Basics
MOQ
From 20,000 pcs (sleeves/labels) · 500 pcs (liners)
Liners typically carry a lower entry MOQ than printed shrink sleeves, which require cylinder setup.
Lead Time
3-4 weeks ex-plant
Includes shrink-ratio pre-testing on an actual bottle sample before full cylinder commitment.
Artwork
Pre-distorted vector file (AI/PDF)
For shrink sleeves, artwork is mapped to your bottle's shrink profile so graphics land correctly post-shrink.
Sampling
Shrink test on your bottle / liner fit sample
We shrink-test on your actual container before bulk production, and provide liner fit samples for drum/bin dimensions.
FAQs

Common Questions

What's the difference between a shrink sleeve and a wrap-around label?
A shrink sleeve is a tube of film that heat-shrinks to conform tightly to the bottle's shape, giving full 360° coverage even on contoured containers. A wrap-around label is applied flat with adhesive and works best on straight-walled cylindrical containers. Shrink sleeves cost more but eliminate adhesive-lift risk entirely.
Do I need to adjust my artwork for shrink distortion?
Yes — artwork for shrink sleeves must be pre-distorted so that once the film shrinks onto your bottle's shape, the graphics, text, and barcodes land in the correct proportion and position. Our pre-press team handles this mapping against your actual bottle profile.
Can poly liners handle aggressive chemicals?
Depends on the chemical. Share the product's chemical composition and concentration, and our technical team will recommend a compatible liner material — standard LDPE/HDPE for many products, or a multi-layer barrier structure for more aggressive or sensitive formulations.
What's the minimum order quantity?
Shrink sleeves and wrap-around labels typically start around 20,000 pieces per SKU due to cylinder or plate setup costs. Poly liners for drums, bins, and FIBC bags can start as low as 500 pieces depending on size and material.
