The most pressing technical issue for the wine industry today is closure quality control. Accordingly, the 28th annual conference of the american society of enology and viticulture, eastern section, titled &ldquoput a cork in it&rdquo, which focused on wine closures from all angles, was relevant to producers anywhere, and drew some participants from the west coast as well as from across the east.
