In a move that blends innovation with environmental responsibility, Mondi and French pet food manufacturer Saga Nutrition have teamed up to launch a fully recyclable, mono-material packaging solution for dry pet food and it’s a game-changer for both sustainability and functionality.
Launched in October 2024, the packaging replaces traditional multi-material plastic often destined for landfills with a mono-material design that ensures recyclability without compromising product protection. Part of Mondi’s re/cycle portfolio, the new re/cycle FlexiBag delivers high-barrier protection against moisture, fat, and odour, maintaining food freshness across a range of sizes starting from 3 kg and up.
What sets this innovation apart is its seamless fusion of performance and eco-consciousness. Not only does it align with CEFLEX recycling guidelines and Mondi’s internal Path to Circularity Scorecard, but it also elevates consumer convenience. With features like secure sealing and enhanced durability, the bags are easy to use, store, and transport making them as practical as they are sustainable.
