GO-Orleans intends to valorize the whey obtained as residue in the production of cheese through the development of natural active additives for incorporation in the packaging , which will extend the useful life of the cheese between 25 and 50%. In addition, they will be incorporated as natural probiotics in feed, in order to improve animal welfare.

Delamere Dairy has relaunched its main fresh goats milk line in a new SIG Combidome packaging format.

The Cheshire-based speciality milk supplier said the format – a relatively new concept for UK retailers – combined the functionality and pourability of a bottle, while also offering the environmental credentials of the gable top cartons it had previously used.

Aldi is trialling clear caps on its milk bottles in a bid to further improve the recyclability of its products.

The supermarket is scrapping the green bottle tops on its British Semi Skimmed Standard Milk products in favour of clear caps, which are easier to recycle.

The trial, which is in partnership with milk supplier Müller, will be introduced later this month across its stores in Cheshire, Manchester and Liverpool.
