Brussels, 25 April 2018 – Celebrating its 25th anniversary today, EUROPEN gathered high-level EU policy-makers, industry leaders and stakeholders to discuss the key role of packaging innovation for a circular economy in our evolving societies.

 

Adam Paterson and Santi Tonsukha, students of the Royal College of Art,  created an innovative seed package design using a single piece of 100% recycled corrugated cardboard.

An innovative pack for a simple yet important product "Car Key"

This pack is innovative 4-ply film forming a unique-shaped, easy-to-tear stick of energy gel for athletes. The packaging material provides excellent protection against oxygen, humidity and odors.

Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Interactivity are rapidly advancing in the packaging world. Consumer behaviour is influenced via smartphone-apps, packaged product design is exploring totally new dimensions and even the remotest packaging equipment can now be supervised with help of VR by the central, highly qualified and 24/7 operational service and maintenance department. These and other amazing developments in packaging were shared 30 November 2017 at the unique ‘NVC Night at the Planetarium’ in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
