Minnesota-based materials company 3M is releasing a new type of packaging that requires no tape and no filler, and it can be customized to fit any object under 3 pounds—which 3M says accounts for about 60% of all items that are bought online and shipped. 3M claims that the material, called the Flex & Seal Shipping Roll, can reduce time spent packing, the amount of packaging materials, and the space needed to ship packages

In 2018, more than 500,000 tons of honey were harvested and produced in the EMEA region*. This explains why consumers today have so many choices when it comes to purchasing honey. In collaboration with Samyoung Machinery, a manufacturer of 3D printers and locomotive parts, Kolmar Korea has developed a cosmetic composition made from two viscous materials inside a transparent container. The liquid of higher viscosity is 3D printed into various designs (i.e., flowers and fruits) through a specialized nozzle.

In addition to this, a packaging line with automatic syringe infeed will be exhibited, as well as a new labelling solution, which enables folded products such as package inserts to be sealed closed automatically.

 

This solution eliminates the need for costly lens-shaped or hologram films to achieve multi-coloured, dynamic effects.
