A two-component Clube (closure+tube).The injection molding process, combined with innovative tooling techniques, releases the constraints of the extrusion process that is commonly used for the manufacturing of tubes and saves up to 40 percent of material (and its cost) by eliminating the tube's shoulder. Besides environmental and cost benefits, the Clube allows design freedom with easy changeovers of colors and labels, an advantage used by L'Oréal. The company has searched for the right packaging to commercialize two-component cosmetic applications. The Clube keeps two formulations apart and then dispenses them simultaneously in a practical and user-friendly packaging. The L'Oréal Clube with in-mold label for high-quality graphics is produced in a single molding step. The body and flip-top closure are fully integrated and form one part. The body contains two separate chambers that can be filled with two different formulations. The closure consequently has two orifices to dispense the two formulations. As soon as these formulations are mixed, they react chemically to develop the right effect. The label features silver contours and grey metallic parts. Because of a less complicated one-step production process, flexibility and short lead times are guaranteed, even for custom or small-volume applications, according to Plasticum. Injection molding Clubes also means less waste and rejects during processing, and hence less energy consumption.

 Bosch Packaging Systems, a Bosch Packaging Technology company, has developed the innovative new “BrightSide” pack style for easy opening and reclosing of flow wrap applications. Bosch's technology allows manufacturers to place a lap seal freely on the top surface of the package, making “BrightSide” particularly suited for chocolate tablets, wafers and multipacks. The “BrightSide” pack style can be used to differentiate products on store shelves and create consumer brand loyalty through added convenience. Thanks to its lap seal, the “BrightSide” package is easier to open than conventional fin seals that must be pulled apart. The pack style is especially beneficial for senior citizens, those less mobile and children. “BrightSide” is reclosable for neat and easy storage of unconsumed food and provides full and immediate access to the product on opening.   

 Braille Script is a innovation in the laminate tube segment. Based on customer requirements Tubapack have developed a tube which may hold the Braille script. The development of this original feature was realized in close cooperation with Colognia press, (Czech Republic). They came up with a solution to integrate the Braille script on the surface of the laminate foil. After successful testing and approval by the customer and also by Slovak Blind and Partially Sighted Union Tubapack started regular production of this kind of tube. So far Tubapack, currently the only company in the market offering this feature. • •

At its next stage of development, this version of the closure will be further developed for a 38mm standard thread as predominantly used in the automotive sector. This then paves the way for application on the 1 liter containers currently on the market.
